masterfrost , sonnet , schwope Corrinne, reacting to the person that had just crashed through the window, leaped backwards, only barely avoiding getting involved in the pile of people and broken glass. Well, that was unexpected. She was intrigued by the newcomer- wings weren't a common accessory, and she knew quite well that they didn't come cheap. Then, she realized who the newcomer had just landed on. Time to make myself scarce... She knew better than to stick around when Winters was actually angry. Thus, she chose this strategic moment to prepare for the investigation. Winters was livid. " Frost." She would have known that smug face anywhere. Voice husky with carefully controlled rage, she grabbed him by his lapels and pinned him to the floor. Backhash burst in the door just in time, probably preventing Winters from attempting to murder Cas. "Winters," He seemed to calm her a bit by showing up with the files. "Right... Frost, kiss your free time good bye. You have too much of it anyway. You work for Osprey now." She didn't bother with further explanation, letting Cas up and shoving one of the small drives at him. It had all been arranged beforehand- he had broken the social norms one too many times for it to be shrugged off by higher command any longer.

Mark had finished his workout and was standing in the shower. The water ran down his body soothing his muscles. He turned when he heard the door to the bathroom open. Jake walked in tossing his cloths to the floor and climbing in with him. The shower was big enough for four people with 24 jets spanning the walls on the left and right as well as rain from the ceiling. "Hey the boss is sending us to headquarters so we need to be quick." Jake said grabbing a bottle of soup. "Oh great. Couldn't you have waited for me to finish before ruining my night?" Mark said taking the soup from Jake when he was done. "Sorry but orders were to get our asses there." Jake said as they both finished up and walked out to the dryers. The lasers traced their bodies evaporating every drop of water on them. Mark caught Jake watching him in both admiration and worry. He smiled to reassure him that he could get over his orders and to except the compliment. They had gotten together when they had first started working together but now they were just close friends and partners. They quickly dressed and headed for the headquarters of Osprey. They reached the building a few minute later since it was close to the house. The front desk told them to go to the fourth floor meeting room. Mark gave the droid a curt nod as they walked past. The inside was nondescript with bland colors and to most observers that would be all, But if one were to look closer they would see cameras peeking out from walls and even some plants. Mark however could hear that there were sensors everywhere as well as weapons, making this building one of the most secure anywhere. They had just come up the fourth flight of stairs and were walking down one of the halls when they heard glass explode in one of the rooms up and to the left. Both rushed forward but were beat into the room by a man carrying a very nice gun. They slid to a halt as they saw the situation. A woman had a winged guy by the shirt, he also seemed to be the one who came through the window. Mark realized he had seen this guy earlier and he was more attractive close up. He also didn't seem too distressed by the scary woman holding him. Deciding to break the atmosphere for better or worse Jake said "Hello". Mark elbowed him but it was too late everyone had turned to look at the newcomers and outsiders.

To be perfectly honest, Casimir was a little disappointed that he was likely now going to be stuck doing something else that what he wished. Which means when Winters glared at him with murder quite clearly in her eyes, he simply returned it with a pout. The pout changed into his usual grin when who should burst in through the door but Backhash! Oh, this would be fun, still, after all! When hauled to his feet and given a harsh comment, the young man gave a small huff, but pinned his favorite officer with a little grin that certainly meant no good. "Oh, my... Whatever shall I do," he drawled, the amusement obvious, but contained. The metallic wings hooked onto his back gave small scraping sounds at the folded down to a more manageable size, the thin, plastic membrane giving a shall his as air was trapped and summarily released to finish the compression. it looked more like a metal pack on his back, now, and the young noble twirled the drive over in his hands. he felt eyes on him, and the soft words of greeting to no one in particular drew his attention, Strikingly light olored eyes came to rest, bright and curious in their own way, on the pair that seemed to have entered after Backhash. Oh! More people to play with. "Friends of yours, Mason? Or are we all making new acquaintances~?"

Ayana resisted the slew of Spanish swears that threatened to leave her lips. Winters had the break in under control, this "Frost" person. Still...she had broken a nail tackling him... And manicures were not cheap. She glowered, glancing around the room. Everyone else seemed just as shocked as she did. Ayana exhaled quietly when the winged miscreant was suddenly assigned to Osprey. Well, wasn't that just bueno, eh?
Her glower was turned full force on the new arrivals. She had to force herself not to pierce them with a furious gaze.

Having double checked her equipment, Corinne returned to see that even more new people had appeared. Joy! I wonder who they are. Beaming at everyone, she stood and waited for an explanation. No use getting to the van when all of this excitement was going on.
"Hey," Backhash drifted towards Ayana as the focus shifted, ignoring Cas without too much trouble. "I know you don't really care for cops, but will you do me a favor?" He put his hands in his pockets and gave her a sidelong glance. Good-natured was a good word to describe him. Honestly, he looked more like the kind of person who should be dressed in a sweater-vest, spending time at a library, perhaps. "He's not exactly used to work," Mason indicated Casimir. "I know you've got your hands full, but if you could give him a nudge if you catch him out of line, it would make everybody's life a lot easier." From all of the operatives he had to choose from, the only one he could think of that could handle a task like this would be her. The organization was pretty much a collection of talented screw-ups, which didn't make introducing particularly troublesome newbies very easy.
Winters, meanwhile, had zeroed in on Mark and Jake. "Ah. You must be the extra security. Good timing. Names?" Smoothing the front of her uniform compulsively, she stared unabashedly, summing up the two men.

Mark cleared his throat rolling back on his heels as the scary woman looked at him. "I'm Mark, this is Jake." Mark said looking directly into her eyes. He had been told by people in the past how scary his eyes could look when he was pissed and he was. He could feel the circuits near his eyes begin to glow slightly which would spread to the rest of his wires if he didn't calm down. Jake stepped up and a little in front of him, knowing he hated when Osprey thought that he was just muscle. "Well this has been exciting and now you know us, so who are you?". The scary one apparently called winters, named them all with military like precision. By the time she had said Ayana, Mark had calmed. He examined everyone, their weapons, and cybernetics. His eyes lingered on Cas, the wings had folded neatly to his back and he was looking back at Mark. Mark showed a slow cocky grin that said 'come and get it'. He knew now that this was the nice piece of ass he had seen flying earlier and that he wasn't afraid to play. Jake always the sociable one smiled and nodded to everyone. Mark could be sociable but not with Osprey, although he would make an exception for some good flirting. After some menacing glares from the women and acknowledging glances from the men. They headed to the garage so they could wait for others that were supposed to be showing up. Cas was leaning against the wall, so Mark walked over and leaned next to him.

"Que?" Ayana arched a brow at Backhash. Yeah, she didn't care for cops, but only because they were usually uptight and well...she had a bit of delinquency in her life. She'd grown out of it, of course, just not the partying side. Ayana exhaled through her nose. She did not want to play babysitter. She'd have to talk to this guy about that. Not that she had time for it now. "You'll owe me a dinner, Backhash." Ayana said. That, and probably an explanation and the LD on what Casimir's record was. She wasn't inclined to getting involved unless she had the whole deal, and she'd found that "reports" from databases tended to be less helpful than getting it from the main source.
Ayana drifted her eyes to Corinne, who looked ecstatic at the excitement. She would be, there was a new person for her to harass. "Come on, chica, chicos, we've got places to be, investigations to do." She flicked a hand through her hair and sauntered off, casting Backhash one more glance. Pfft. Her, watching Casimir. Because that was a good idea. "Vamanos." she added, tinkering with her gear as she continued her sauntering.

Another pout was thrown from Casimir's lips, but to Backhash, this time. Oh, ignoring him, now? How rude.... Not at all becoming of an officer! The noble could not help but chuckle at himself; Oh, Backhash knew well enough this would only make the thorn he was dig in deeper, but that would have to come a little later, it seemed. These new faces seemed to be just as interesting. There was one, a Mark, he believed, that seemed rather... Curious. It was, though, the kind of curiosity that a certain young man seemed to thrive very well off of and proved that this particular new recruit would certainly need to be kept a close eye on by more than just Mark.
The game began. Slightly, ever so slightly, Casimir tilted up his head to look down the bridge of his slim nose at Mark, eyeing him up and down. He kept his own lips in a thin line, even as that smirk tempted him to end the game too early. It would be no fun if he made the prize to easy! With calm and practiced coyness, Cas' eyes narrowed just so and his lips spread into a smug little grin. As he turned, keeping their eyes locked over his shoulder, he made one thing clear with his own look. It was not he that was going to be doing the chasing...
Backhash probably had way too good a reason to warrant Casimir Frost being babysat, now, and preferably not by this cop.

"Of course." Mason smiled, nodding. "Well, good luck, operative." He waved as the task force headed for the van. Of course, he and Winters had other things to do. Corrine followed Ayana without much prompting. "So, do you think we'll beat the cops by five hours, or more like three?" She pulled the back door open, revealing the cleanly designed interior of their transport. Using her peripheral scanners, she picked up on the two newbies. Weeeeeell~ If you two aren't open books... She would have snickered to herself, but she knew better than that. That would take all the fun out of it. She couldn't remember the last time there had been a good romantic relationship in the workplace.

Mark shook his head smiling at Cas's replying look. He had no problem being the chaser but he was all the more determined when he was. Jake gave him a look that said good luck. They both turned as the call to get in the transport rang out. As Jake climbed in mark whispered "I took you down didn't I?". Jake out right laughed as he settled, "I thought it was the other way around." he said wiggling his eyebrows. It was Marks turn to laugh as he elbowed Jake. All of them talked small talk to the people next to them while the van took them to location. "So you were the first to know, where are we going?" Jake asked. "Actually ribbon boy was the first, but its the mainframe and I'm not supposed to know were that is." Mark said not using his brothers real or screen name just incase. Jake was about to say something when Mark held up a finger, his mother was calling. He touched his temple. "Where the hell are you?!" his mother said making him wince. "The boss has us set up to help with what ribbon boy was freaking out over. I don't know when I'll be home." he said quietly. His mother went quiet and just then his system gave him a warning that he was being hacked. Before he could do anything his brother yelled "What?! Your really going there? Can I tag your circuits and listen in?". " No absolutely not." Mark and his mother said at the same time. Everyone looked at him and he shrugged apologetic. "Ill call when I can." he said and cut them off. "Sorry, family stuff" He said tracing the cybernetics on his left temple, which caused his fire wall to vaporize the tiny bug his brother tried to attach for eavesdropping. Thankfully they had arrived at their destination.

Ayana was busy checking her own tech, frowning darkly at the floor, when Corinne reached her. Damnit, she did not want to be stuck babysitting. Backhash should know that, too! Ayana glowered all the darker until Corinne spoke. She blinked and answered, slipping into spanish as often occurred when her brain was on another track of thought. "Eh. Tres ahoras, otra tres y media." She pocketed her scanner and blinked again, recognizing her fault. "I mean, three or three and a half, I'm sure." Her expression flattened slightly as she followed Corinne's gaze. The newbies. "How do you think the nueve chicos will survive?" she asked, cocking a brow. Osprey was no place for the weak willed, and certainly not the weak minded. She didn't particularly think these boys fit that bill. But, she reflected silently, they can't be weak in the discipline department either. Clearly, Backhash was worried about that particular field for the winged boy, Casimir. She took her customary, claimed seat in the van. Ayana was fairly particular about her van seat. She had once trounced a newbie for trying to sit in it. Winters hadn't done much about it, letting her get away with the claim. Smirking at the thought, Ayana plugged her scanner into the van's wall of computers, watching the data flicker on screen. Her finger sparked as she connected to the system, listening to the coding go through the details of the Event. She needed to know if she'd missed anything. Lulled into the state of concentration, she jumped when Mark made his outburst. Disgruntled, she refrained from speaking her mind. Family calls had no place on Osprey missions. They shouldn't even be able to contact him via the net system if he was working with Osprey at the time. She arched her brow as the net system around her beeped, reporting a bug on Mark. Ayana was about to say something before his firewall activated and the bug report came back clean. She exhaled. Family calls and hacking siblings? Talk about a security threat.

Casimir, still playing by his own rules, had seated himself in a spot where he wasn't too close to Mark, but was still able to keep an eye on him. No one else was going to get the chance to play with this one while he had Mark's interest, after all. he gave a soft hum, looking over his own nails as the were driving, though his ears gathered in everythinghe felt he needed. he did not comment, however, sitting calmly for the whole ride. He was, however, reminded of something.
"I believe it would be for the best that my own family be alerted... I'm sure they'll tear through half the town if I'm missing and haven't done anything obviously destructive, just yet," he mused to himself, chuckling but a moment afterwards. "Likely something Backhash and Madame Winters are tasking themselves with... Oh, though it would be great fun to see how ruffled a few feathers get if they forget for long enough."

"I don't know, but they'd better watch their step. This is a hard enough job when you're paying attention..." She hopped into the back and took a seat, validating her identity so that she could use the computers. They'd better hope Winters doesn't catch them slacking. That's one thing I wouldn't want to see.
She snapped to attention when the machine nearest her blipped a warning, and her fingers were on the keys before the message vanished. It seemed that the software that Mark had on his systems had gotten rid of it. "Mark, you'd better tell that brother of yours to watch his step. These are bad times for an amateur hacker." Cory, the most serious she'd been all day, turned around in her chair to face him head on. Not that it really mattered to her, because she had a very wide range of vision on account of her cybernetics. It was more for his sake than anything else.
"You've got that right, Frost." Apparently, Winters had been quite forward-thinking, as it seemed she had Cas's system tapped. Her voice came through quite clearly to him, but was nearly inaudible to everyone else. "I see your family is almost as taxed with you as I am. Your father was on the verge of going out to take you down himself."
It wasn't long before they arrived. The sleek, efficiently designed buildings of the high-end district towered overhead, and the constant background noise of leaking cybernetic connections vanished. Corrine was visibly on-edge, though whether from excitement or anxiety was questionable. "Well, the IP is definitely from around here." She muttered, delving deeper and deeper into the breached system in an attempt to find any clues. "What... 'Starbird'?" A single line came up on her screen, 'Starbird sends its regards', before the really messed up code began. She didn't recognize the name, and certainly not the style.

Mark almost laughed when they called his brother an armature. When sneaking about his brother liked to be seen to make it more exciting or as a courtesy to those he is playing with. Mark never understood the cat and mouse game but he seemed to enjoy it immensely. He was pulled from thoughts about his brother by Winters telling Cas about his family. No one else would hear this but he still stored the knowledge for later examination. Jakes hand was between them and he began to tap his fingers in a backwards and convoluted Morse code that they used to communicate when they didn't want to talk out loud. I've scanned, I'll stick with the group you find high ground. Mark blinked an affirmative and.
They all climbed out getting their gear and started delving into their respective specialties. Mark looked around finding the highest place the allowed him to watch and listen to everyone and everything without any distractions. He climbed up and sat perched and ready.

"Tch." Ayana shook her head at Corinne's response to Mark's sibling. He was dancing in the wrong zapatos. She ignored everyone in the van, except Corinne, because she knew what she was doing, and focused on the coding coming through her link.
Her focus was deterred from course when they neared the high-end district. Her family lived here. Her grandparents would be distraught that she hadn't stopped by while in the area. She twisted her lips at the high rise nearest to them. Her brother worked there now. He made six figures and lived in a penthouse. Not that she was lacking in funds, but...he relished living above the lower class. Her hermano had fallen hard after being denied entrance to Osprey.
She jumped when the coding invaded her link. Starbird sends their regards. She stared at her screen. "Starbird?" she turned to look at Corinne. "Que?" she whispered before turning to her computer. Her fingers were flying across the board. "Los idiotas! Nosotros tienemos--" she blinked and shook her head, switching to English. "Goddamn! I can't get a hit. Corinne, I'm going to be locked in." she said sharply, closing her eyes and letting herself focus on the coding, following the paths as fast and hard as she can. Who was Starbird? And why couldn't she follow them?!?

Casimir blinked, at first, when a voice invaded his ears that seemed to affect no one else in the van. He tuned their chatter out, a sly grin spreading over his lips. He should have know. "Oh, Winters! When did you find the time to set this up? Then again, you are one of Osprey," he hummed lightly. "Tell me, is Backhash there, too? He was rather rude to me before we left. Certainly that isn't becoming of a ma his rank." The young male was soon in a nearly constant string of chatter with seemingly himself, but to most present, it would soon become obvious that he was just trying to talk Winter's ear off.
Then, of course,he had to pause in his fun. Someone was trying to hack their systems, it seemed. "Oh, them, again? Winters, you should probably know they tried to hack us, again. Not sure how successful they were, but I believe we are somewhat expected..."

Corrine, keeping up with a good effort, kept looking through the breach. "Aha! Got something, it's-" She stopped speaking abruptly, looking at Ayana. "It's the van's IP." She scratched her head, leaning back in her seat and looking utterly baffled. "That doesn't even make sense. How?" There were a million questions she wanted to ask, all of them going to fast for her to pick one. Whatever this was, it was next-level. This was no casual black-hat rebel. Whoever was doing this was serious. "Well... Whoever it was, they're gone." She sighed, unplugging. "We should probably check out the local network next, unless you think you can make sense of the overarching system."
"Me, Osprey? Don't jump to conclusions, Frost. I work with them, but I'm far from one of them." Winters responded with a snort. "We know. Just leave it to them. Your job is recon, so just sit still and keep your hands to yourself until one of your superiors tells you otherwise. And while you're feeling talkative, why don't you tell that bodyguard of yours to keep an eye out to the south, because that was where we got the last identifiable signal."

Mark paused as everyone began to swarm as the system was hacked, not his problem he thought watching for possible adversaries. He then heard Winters say that Frost needed to tell him his job he rolled his eyes. He was sure Winters realized that he could hear her, hell he could hear each persons heart beat and circuitry. Rolling his eyes he looked to the south checking to see if anything was there, a moment later he spotted something that he wasn't sure he could identify. Calmly he stood, pulled his gun (designed by his mother) from his right hip while pulling his scope from his left thigh. Then he brought it up. pushing a button that expanded it into something like a rifle. With everything in place he looked through the scope to where he had kept his sharp eyes. What is that he thought adjusting the sights to a wider view. "Jake" he whispered "Get Winters up here quietly.". Jake grunted his confirmation, the whole conversation so quiet you would have to be Mark to hear it.
