From the outside, this building looks like a tiny little two story cottage, quaint and inviting. It would easily be mistaken for a home if it were not for the polished brass sign of a fish, jumping partially out of a foaming cauldron. What i odd, however, is what surrounds the establishment, which appears to be a tavern. Time and space seemed to flow about it like the cosmos, itself, which was probably why strange characters from many different planes of existence have been found in there, and several of them have pictures up on the walls of the interior. The interior is also a little odd, very spacious and obviously somehow disconnected when compared to the size of the exterior.

Sergei, though confused at suddenly being in a place so different from his usual location, was glad to find a place to sit down after a long day of working. Boldly striding in through the front door, he took in the interior. Well, not a bad place to be. With his habitual smile, he strode in. He blended in about as well as a red herring- the interior didn't exactly match his shaved head and tattoos.

In a small booth, way in the corner, was a young man. He seemed right contented were he was, an ale in hand and his cap on the table. Ian looked up from his bottle of alcohol when this new face came in. Such an odd sight, this bloke was. Ian leaned back, all but his ring finger on his left hand rubbing the top of the table. This was, of course, since that digit was long gone, leaving but a stub, but it didn't seem to bother the butcher.

"Hello, sir. Do you mind if I sit with you? The place is pretty packed." A man wearing what seemed to be a cloak made of shadows. "I'm Gust, by the way." He scratched his head through his black shock of hair, mumbling, "this place is downright confusing..."

"Hey, mind if I sit down?" Sergei's eyes lit up as he noted Ian in the corner. He sidled up to the booth, friendly. Being naturally curious, he immediately noted the missing finger and the contented attitude of the man, and wished very much to ask about it. I'm sure there's a story there... "Oh, hello!" He noted the other man, who introduced himself as Gust. "Why don't we just make a party of this?" He grinned, leaning against the wall as he awaited Ian's response.

Oh, well wasn't this just delightful! Ian gave a crooked, but charming grin to the two, leaning back slightly and taking a hearty swig of his drink. "Well, I certainly don' see no reason not to have a little company!" the man chortled, his accent thick yet clear to understand. "Take a' seat, lads! Bar keep'll come over soon enough to take care o' you."

"Ah, great, thanks!" Sergei smiled even brighter, sliding in across from Ian. "The name's Sergei. What's your name?" He folded his arms in front of him, resting his elbows on the table. It concealed the insides of his forearms, which was half-calculated but mostly unconscious. It had become a habit long ago in his high-school years.

"The name's Gust, pleasure to meet you Sergei." Gust said with a smile that completely contrasted with his garb and hair. "I hope to not insult, but why do you set your arms like that?" The inquiry was not intended to be insulting, yes, but it was also to gauge this man's reaction to the question. 'I want to see what kind of thing has a man place his arms in such a fashion. I have this gut feeling that there is something important to this man's arms hidden from view.' Gust watched carefully to see the next move, but made sure to keep the facade of a seemingly innocent man, not showing an ounce of his unease.

"Oh, don't worry about it." He smiled across the table, looking just as innocent. "It's a force of habit." He lifted one of his arms, revealing the entirety of the tattoo that covered it. The tangled rose vines stood out against his tanned skin in bright colors. "When I was younger, I used to cut myself, and that was how I hid it from my dad." While one had to look quite closely to see, the scars were still there, concealed beneath the tattoos. "Like my tats, though?" Well... that was a downer. Ah, well. He carried on smiling, folding his arms again.

Myraid McBride walked into the strange tavern, confused about how she got there but she was happy to have a drink. Stepping through the door she saw a table full of men. Perfect she thought, she had been around men her entire life and these looked like fun characters. Her red hair was braided to her waist showing her three gold hoop earrings on her left ear and the emerald dangling from her right. The scar across her right eye and cheek made her less than a normal woman, as did the sword strapped to her waist. She walked over to the table "Looks like you guys are having fun, mind if I join?" she said her Irish accent lilting through her question.

Well, what a party this was turning into! Ian's grin broadened and he nodded to each man. "Ian Smyth's my name, lads! Nice ta' make yer acquaintance," he grinned, his ale giving a clink as he set it down on the table of the booth. He listened to the little conversation, taking a peek at the little slices hided by the ink. "Well, lad, it's'a good thin' ya stopped that business." Then, who should come up to the bar but a rather lovely red head. "Ah! Another o' the isles! Southen or Northen, lass?"
It was around that time where a man made of fire walked over. Judging by the pad of miraculously unburnt paper in his hand and his professional but workable attire, also unburnt, this was the barkeep. His cousin had started this whole bar-running thing, and it had kind of become a family tradition.

Myraid didn't even flinch when she saw the bar keep. Instead she smiled asking "Hello good sir, could I trouble you to bring me a mug of your best?". The men had made some room so she sat next to her kinsmen who seemed to be the cheekiest of the lot. Settling she unbuckled her belt and hung it on the peg between the booths. Her sword, daggers, and pistol clanking as she pulled it out from behind her back. Then she removed her coat revealing more scars on her neck arms and hands. She glanced at the tattooed man sitting across from her, he had scars as well but she had seen enough injuries to know which were self inflicted and which weren't. Myraid decided she liked this man. laying her arms on the table she revealed a cross tattooed on the inside of her arm next to burn scars. Those she would prefer not to talk about them but she would if asked because telling about ones self helped others understand why you are who you are.

"Hello miss, my name is Gust, pleasure to be your acquaintance, and might I add that those are some lovely weapons." Gust greeted the woman cheerfully. There must be quite a few stories behind those scars, and having such weaponry at that must mean that she has some battle experience. I wonder if she knows of any other magical arms other than my own? So tell me, what brings a woman to be a warrior these days? I hear it can be quite the tale."

At this strange but welcome question, Myraid threw her head back and laughed. "Thanks my weapons are my pride and joy. Well I am a captain by trade and a pirate by heart. I was also tortured when I was younger which accounts for most of my worrier attitude." she said taking a swig from the tankard that had just been set in front of her. " What about all of you, all of you have to have stories."

"Well..." Gust said with uncertainty, then, with a shrug,"Why not?" Then, he pulled a wrapped bundle from the depths of his cloak. It seemed to radiate darkness, even with the thick wrapping. "This is the sword that changed my life. I was just a simple servant to a family of nobles at the time. It was during a war between nations. I was only fifteen then." He closed his eyes, remembering those long past days. "I was the best friend of the prince, who was about the same age as me. We got along quite well, albeit I was just a lowly scrubber." Gust smiled at his fond memories of the castle and its inhabitants. Then, he frowned, anger and grief mixed in his face. "Then, the royal family was assassinated." He was talking in a low, dark voice now, rage oozing from every word, with a face to match. "The attackers even decided to let their allied army into the castle. They even locked away any of the surviving staff, including me." He then gestured to the still-wrapped sword on the table. "During the first night of solitary confinement within the cell,a shadow seemed to pour into the room through the barred window. It was small, so I didn't notice it immediately, but I remember seeing it out of the corner of my eye. But then the blade was trust from the darkness and missed my head by mere centimeters." Gust began to unwrap the parcel on the table. "The moment my hand gripped the hilt of this sword, I was filled with overwhelming power as my hair and eyes became black like you see now, and I was wrapped in shadowy clothing to replace the tatters I had been left in." The beginnings of the sword were being revealed, being as if a black hole as no light seemed to bounce from it. "I killed every. single. one of them." The blade had been fully unwrapped at this point. It was a rapier unlike any normal blade, completely black and seeming to have shadows coiling around it like a dark flame. "This is Death's Orchid."
